Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

According to Dr. Qaisar Ahmed, Cataract is an eye problem that develops in the eye lens and sometimes on the eye lens due to protein breakdown and/or due to dust and UV rays, age factor, physical trauma, and health ailments and sometimes two or more causes together, which results in the form of clumps. As these clumps develop and change, vision can become blurry, double vision and some times complete blindness.

Diet and prevention:

Eat greens, especially vegetables that contain vitamins A, C, k and E, lutein, Xanthippe and omega-3 fatty acids and beta carotenoids to reduce the risk of cataract.

Orange, Carrots, Redish, Peach etc having red pigmentation are also good sources of beta carotenoids.

Beta carotenoids is the substance that helps improve overall eye health. It also reduces the risk of several eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataract and night blindness.

Body’s hydration levels are also an important considering factor that can have an effect on the progression of cataracts. If you do not stay hydrated properly, then it can lead to unnecessary accumulation of harmful toxins in the body. These toxins can affect your general health and trigger eye problems. Good water intake helps in flushing out harmful toxins easily, thus prevention of cataract naturally.

Both smoking and alcohol consumption release free radicals in the body and in your eyes, that can increase the risk of progression of cataract. Smoking should be avoided at all costs for good eye health and overall health as well. The releasing of harmful chemicals due to cigarette smoking can put you at a higher risk of developing cataract, let alone preventing it.

Protect eyes from sun

protect your eyes from the sun to prevent cataracts naturally. You can wear a simple wide hat, scarf or dupatta to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. In fact, there are polarized sunglasses, photo chromatic lenses and UV blocking contact lenses available that can help in keeping UV rays damage away from the eyes. UV radiation can put you at a higher risk of both cataract, and age-related macular degeneration; You should wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays. This natural preventive tip is important to prevent and minimize the progression of cataracts. Hence, wear sunglasses while going out of the house. Besides ultraviolet rays, sunglasses or shades also help in avoiding trauma and injuries to the eye. You can keep your eyes safe from any environmental harmful factors that can affect them.
